Job Overview:

 

The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for managing, coordinating and administering all shipping and receiving functions of the Shipping Department to meet or exceed our on time and in full delivery while meeting and exceeding plant objectives of safety, quality, efficiency, productivity, customer service, and regulatory compliance while demonstrating continuous improvements.

Responsibilities

 

  • Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational and personnel policies and procedures
  • Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts, reconciling with data storage system.
  • Produce Shipping metrics and Key Process Indicators (KPI’s) as required by the QMS.
  • Meet and exceed established department and plant goals.
  • Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
  • Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
  • Maintains warehouse staff by selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Lead and develop a Shipping/Receiving crew consisting of a Traffic Coordinator, Receiving Clerk, Supervisor, Leads, and Shipping personnel to become a true service organization to support the plant to achieve plant and company goals.
  • May work on special projects/assignments upon request.
  • Follow all applicable safety/housekeeping guidelines.
  • Manage trailer fleet through 3rd party transport companies

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor of Science degree preferred, five (5) years management experience, Supervision, traffic/transportation/logistics experience, and inventory control experience.
  • Strong manufacturing experience required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Have the ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, memos and be able to prepare and effectively present information in one-on-one, small, and large group situations to customers, clients, and other associates within the organization.
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • SAP experience a plus
