Position Summary:

Develops practical and innovative ways to drive in- process and finished product quality improvement by: (1) Incorporating VOE, VOC, customer complaint trends, in- process audit data etc. in to product and process design and equipment selection plan (2) Initiating/Facilitating operator training and certification program (3) Through effective facilitation and closure of manufacturing quality issues using robust corrective actions within the parameters of QMS and data driven decision making. (4) Process standardization across the company for core manufacturing and testing processes.

 

Responsibilities

Work closely with Operations and Corporate quality team to:


▪ Drive customer focused manufacturing Quality improvement projects, from initiation to
realization of improved performance
▪ Implement and assure compliance with the requirements of FXI QMS, ISO:9001, IATF16949 at plants in assigned region
▪ Prepare advanced quality planning documents and participate in quality planning
activities, including FMEA's, Process Flow Diagrams, Control Charts and Gage R&R
studies.
▪ Using the key metrics data, develop PDCA improvement plan, present it to plant
leadership teams and facilitate implementation via employee training.
▪ Provide quality engineering expertise and utilize specialized skills in the quality arena
▪ Drive corrective and preventive action program, from initiation to resolution of items
▪ Develop positive relationships and work closely with plant quality managers to manage
and implement engineering changes, process improvements and new part or product
introductions/launches
▪ Deliver results as measured by key metrics such as defect rates PPM, returned credits, cost
of quality and corrective action closure
▪ Develop plant/product specific employee training to build quality awareness.
▪ Work with cross functional team to develop layered process audit & train stake holders
▪ Participate in Corporate Quality Audits and Third-party audits by Amazon, Costco, SGS,
ISO, IATF etc

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • 1-3 years related experience in a Quality Engineer role in the automotive industry or working with automotive customers
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
    ▪ Mechanical, Chemical or Industrial Engineering degree preferred

 

Position Qualifications:

 

▪ Strong data analysis, problem solving and project management skills
▪ Thorough understanding of metrology, statistics and statistical methods including SPC
▪ Good working knowledge of FMEAs PPAP, APQP and Calibration, Six sigma certification
▪ Effective oral and written communication skills in a strong team-based environment
▪ Able to manage multiple complex situations daily and deal with rapidly changing priorities
▪ Demonstrated ability and proficiency with use of information technology (i.e., Microsoft
Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Visio, SharePoint and statistical analysis software)
▪ Certification by ASQ as a CQE, CQA or CQM considered highly desirable
