Overview

We are looking to hire a Maintenance Mechanic in our Fort Wayne, IN plant working 3rd shift hours are from 11pm-7am. Hourly Pay is $28.50  with 5-8 years of industrial maintenance experience.  Must have an electrical background and how to read electrical schematics, use a multimeter, and other electrical testing devices for troubleshooting.  3rd shift differential is $.75 per hour.

Responsibilities

 

  • Work with plant machine operators to properly maintain manufacturing equipment.
  • Fabricate parts to tolerances shown on blue prints with lathes, mill and surface grinders.
  • Work with junior mechanics to train on safe work practices.
  • Own and know the proper use of complete set of hand tools.
  • Work in difficult positions, above floor level and consisting of climbing, stooping, reaching around equipment in tight quarters.
  • Ability to move/lift up to 100 lbs on occasion
  • Use ladders when required.
  • Handle and dispose of waste/trash (hazardous or other) as assigned.
  • Must keep up to date on the operation of plant safety and fire equipment.

Qualifications

  • 5-8 years experience in industrial maintenance setting.
  • Strong knowledge in electrical troubleshooting.
  • Must be able repair all manufacturing equipment, heating equipment and lighting systems.
    Must be able to troubleshoot live AC/DC circuits up to 480 volts.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, with the ability to respond to call outs as needed to fulfill business objective and the ability to work shifts for plant conditions
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
  • Lift 40 lbs from floor, bend, twist, climb, crawl.
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
  • Attention to detail and good math skills required.

Other requirements:

  • Must be able to complete and pass initial medical surveillance physical exam and then annual exams
  • Must be able to complete and pass forklift safety training and right-to-know
  • Must wear safety glasses, steel toed shoes, foul weather gear, hazardous waste handling, protective clothing.
  • Ability to safely and properly use cutting and welding equipment 
  • Must complete Bloodborne pathogens training
  • May be required to run, work in hot, cold, wet or dry and around foam gasses and chemical odors
